Case studies
A closer look at three client campaigns: where they started, what I changed, and what the numbers looked like afterwards.
Coach · Online course
Ad spend
→
Revenue
This coach needed to sell an online course and grow his personal brand. I built a conversion-focused funnel and ran strategic ads to it, turning a $2,773.25 investment into $15,267.29 in sales.
Non-profit · Fundraising
Ad spend
→
Revenue
This non-profit was losing money on its fundraising ads when they brought me in. In the first month, $970 in ad spend raised $6,422, and the wider fundraising effort went on to generate more than $600K that year.
High-ticket services
Ad spend
→
Revenue
This business sells high-ticket services and products. I rebuilt the ad strategy around stronger creatives and smarter retargeting, then tightened spend and targeting, turning $2.9K into $20,472.10 in revenue.
Local market
Advertising conditions are not identical across Nevada. Businesses competing in a major metropolitan area can face a different paid-search environment from companies serving smaller cities, suburban markets, or rural areas. The strategy should reflect those differences rather than treating an entire state as one uniform advertising market.
Nevada has about 3.28 million residents, and nearly three-quarters of them live in the Las Vegas metro in Clark County. Reno and Northern Nevada form the second major market, while the rest of the state is largely rural desert.
Tourism, gaming and entertainment dominate Las Vegas, while Reno has grown as a logistics, manufacturing and technology hub. Nevada has no state income tax, which attracts residents and businesses from California.
For advertisers, Las Vegas is highly competitive, especially in legal, home services and real estate.
I don’t have an office in every Nevada city, and I won’t pretend to.
What I bring is a campaign structure that treats Las Vegas, Reno, Henderson and smaller markets as separate decisions, each with its own bids, budgets, location settings and search terms.
Businesses operating in major metro areas often face greater advertiser density because more companies are competing for the same high-intent searches.
Smaller markets may have different challenges.
Search volume can be lower, service areas can be larger, and campaigns may need to balance efficient geographic coverage with enough search demand to produce useful data.
The correct strategy depends on the market.
That is why statewide Google Ads management should analyze performance geographically instead of assuming every city deserves the same investment.
What gets in the way
These are the issues I see most often when Nevada businesses come to me with an account that is spending money but not producing enough real customers.
A home-service company in Las Vegas competes with many active advertisers, and legal keywords are among the most expensive in the West. The same company in rural Nevada may face little competition.
A company may technically serve all of Nevada while still having areas where customers are more valuable, easier to reach, or operationally practical.
Campaigns can be segmented around:
Las Vegas summers are extremely hot, driving huge AC demand, while Reno and Northern Nevada see cold winters and snow. Tourism and conventions drive demand year-round.
“emergency plumber near me”
“roof repair Las Vegas”
“dentist in Reno”
“business attorney Henderson”
often reveal significantly stronger commercial intent than broad informational queries.
A local Google Ads campaign should be built around that distinction.
City by city
Each major Nevada market has its own competition, customer behavior and seasonality. Here is how I think about four of them.
Las Vegas and suburbs such as Summerlin and North Las Vegas form a large, fast-growing market.
Splitting by area and using bilingual campaigns can help, and AC and pool businesses face intense competition.
Reno has become a logistics and technology hub, with residents moving from California.
Campaigns should target fast-growing neighborhoods and B2B services.
Henderson is an affluent, family-oriented city in the Las Vegas metro.
Premium home services and healthcare are especially active here.
Carson City, the state capital, and the Nevada side of Lake Tahoe combine government and tourism.
Campaigns should separate tourism from local services.
I can also help businesses targeting customers outside Nevada’s largest metro areas, in markets such as Elko, Mesquite, Pahrump, Fernley, Winnemucca and Ely.
A smaller market does not automatically mean an easier campaign.
Lower search volume, larger service territories, and fewer daily conversion opportunities can make good targeting and measurement even more important.
Nevada campaign plan
Nevada is on Pacific Time (West Wendover uses Mountain Time). Las Vegas holds most of the population, and both main markets see huge visitor traffic that can waste a local budget.
Industry strategy
Some industries consistently show strong paid-search demand in Nevada, shaped by tourism and gaming, extreme heat and fast population growth. Here is how I approach the most common ones.
Hot weather makes pools, shade structures and outdoor living a major category.
What I focus on: seasonal budgets and tracking estimates.
Las Vegas is a competitive market for personal injury and other legal services.
What I focus on: tight targeting, call qualification, and signed-case tracking.
Conventions and events support transportation, catering and event services.
What I focus on: event-based budgets and booking tracking.

Questions
Competition varies significantly by industry and location.
Las Vegas is the most competitive part of Nevada, especially for legal, HVAC and real estate keywords. Reno is moderately competitive, while rural Nevada has few advertisers.
A statewide average can hide major differences between markets.
That is why I prefer evaluating the actual keywords, cities, services, and competitors relevant to your business.
In Nevada I see consistent Google Ads demand from HVAC and pool companies, law firms, real estate agents, healthcare practices, event businesses and B2B logistics companies.
They benefit because their customers search with urgent needs.
That depends on where customers are located and where your business can realistically serve them.
For some businesses, statewide targeting makes sense.
For others, separating Las Vegas, Reno, and other priority areas provides better budget control.
They can be, especially when a larger number of advertisers compete for the same commercial searches.
However, cost per click alone does not determine profitability.
A more expensive market can still make sense if:
Yes.
Smaller markets can still contain strong commercial search demand.
The campaign may simply need a different strategy around:

Office & service area
I run Google Ads for businesses in Nevada from my office in Washington, DC. Campaigns are geo-targeted to the cities, ZIP codes and radius you actually serve in Nevada, so local searchers see your ads and out-of-area clicks are excluded. We work over video calls, WhatsApp and email, with the same account access and reporting wherever you are.
