Case studies
A closer look at three client campaigns: where they started, what I changed, and what the numbers looked like afterwards.
Coach · Online course
Ad spend
→
Revenue
This coach needed to sell an online course and grow his personal brand. I built a conversion-focused funnel and ran strategic ads to it, turning a $2,773.25 investment into $15,267.29 in sales.
Non-profit · Fundraising
Ad spend
→
Revenue
This non-profit was losing money on its fundraising ads when they brought me in. In the first month, $970 in ad spend raised $6,422, and the wider fundraising effort went on to generate more than $600K that year.
High-ticket services
Ad spend
→
Revenue
This business sells high-ticket services and products. I rebuilt the ad strategy around stronger creatives and smarter retargeting, then tightened spend and targeting, turning $2.9K into $20,472.10 in revenue.
Local market
Advertising conditions are not identical across Arkansas. Businesses competing in a major metropolitan area can face a different paid-search environment from companies serving smaller cities, suburban markets, or rural areas. The strategy should reflect those differences rather than treating an entire state as one uniform advertising market.
Arkansas has about 3.11 million residents, and two regions do most of the growing. Central Arkansas around Little Rock is the government, healthcare and business center, while Northwest Arkansas, home to the headquarters of Walmart, Tyson Foods and J.B. Hunt, has become one of the fastest-growing metros in the South.
Outside those two areas, much of the state is rural, with agriculture in the Delta, tourism in the Ozarks and Ouachitas, and smaller regional hubs such as Jonesboro, Fort Smith and Hot Springs.
Costs per click are often lower than in larger Southern states, but customers can be very loyal to local businesses and recommendations. For advertisers, credibility signals such as reviews, years in business and clear local service areas often matter as much as bids.
You won’t find a fake local address here.
What a Arkansas business gets from me is a structure where Little Rock, Fayetteville and smaller markets are measured separately, so budget follows the areas that actually produce customers.
Businesses operating in major metro areas often face greater advertiser density because more companies are competing for the same high-intent searches.
Smaller markets may have different challenges.
Search volume can be lower, service areas can be larger, and campaigns may need to balance efficient geographic coverage with enough search demand to produce useful data.
The correct strategy depends on the market.
That is why statewide Google Ads management should analyze performance geographically instead of assuming every city deserves the same investment.
What gets in the way
Here is where Arkansas advertisers most often lose money, and what usually fixes it.
A home-service company in Northwest Arkansas competes with a growing number of advertisers chasing new residents in Bentonville, Rogers and Fayetteville. The same company in the Delta or southern Arkansas may face very little competition, but also limited search volume and long drives between jobs.
A company may technically serve all of Arkansas while still having areas where customers are more valuable, easier to reach, or operationally practical.
Campaigns can be segmented around:
Arkansas sees severe weather in spring and fall, including tornadoes, hail and flooding, which drives sudden demand for roofing, restoration and tree services. Hot, humid summers push AC repair searches up, and the Ozarks and Hot Springs see seasonal tourism peaks in summer and fall.
“emergency plumber near me”
“roof repair Little Rock”
“dentist in Fayetteville”
“business attorney Fort Smith”
often reveal significantly stronger commercial intent than broad informational queries.
A local Google Ads campaign should be built around that distinction.
City by city
Here is how campaign strategy changes across four important Arkansas markets.
Little Rock, North Little Rock, Conway and Benton make up the state’s largest metro, with roughly 750,000 residents and an economy built on government, healthcare, education and finance.
Competition is moderate, strongest in legal, medical and home-service categories. Separating suburbs such as Conway and Bryant from the city core often reveals real differences in cost per lead and customer value.
Fayetteville, Springdale, Rogers and Bentonville have grown rapidly thanks to major corporate headquarters, a large supplier ecosystem and the University of Arkansas. Many residents are newcomers, often relocated for corporate jobs.
That creates strong demand for new homes, home services, healthcare, childcare and professional services, as well as B2B services aimed at retail suppliers. Newcomers rely heavily on Google, so clear service areas and strong reviews pay off.
Fort Smith is a regional manufacturing and distribution center on the Oklahoma border, and many businesses here serve customers in both states.
Search volume is moderate and competition is lighter than in Northwest Arkansas. Campaigns should decide deliberately whether to include eastern Oklahoma, and should focus on call-driven ads for home and auto services.
Hot Springs combines a retirement and tourism economy with lakes, national park visitors and second homes. Lodging, restaurants, boat rentals and home services for retirees are especially active.
Campaigns here should separate tourism from local demand, reach visitors from Texas, Louisiana and beyond, and use ad copy that speaks to older homeowners where relevant.
I can also help businesses targeting customers outside Arkansas’s largest metro areas, in markets such as Jonesboro, Pine Bluff, Texarkana, Russellville, Harrison and the Delta communities.
A smaller market does not automatically mean an easier campaign.
Lower search volume, larger service territories, and fewer daily conversion opportunities can make good targeting and measurement even more important.
Arkansas campaign plan
Arkansas is one time zone (Central) with a few distinct markets. Northwest Arkansas has grown much faster than the rest of the state, so its competition and customer profile now look quite different from Little Rock.
Industry strategy
Not every industry needs the same Google Ads strategy. In Arkansas, corporate growth in Northwest Arkansas, frequent severe weather and a largely rural economy make these categories especially active.
Northwest Arkansas hosts a large ecosystem of consumer-goods suppliers, consultants, logistics firms and agencies that work with major retail and trucking headquarters.
What I focus on: precise B2B keywords around supplier services, analytics and logistics, exclusion of job-seeker traffic, professional ad copy, and tracking qualified meetings rather than raw form submissions.
Hail, tornadoes and severe thunderstorms make roofing and restoration some of the most active search categories in Arkansas, with demand spiking after each storm.
What I focus on: weather-responsive budgets, separating emergency storm searches from planned replacement, trust-building ad copy against out-of-town storm chasers, and call tracking to measure inspections booked.
The Ozarks, the Buffalo National River, Hot Springs and the state’s many lakes attract visitors for fishing, floating, hiking and cabin stays.
What I focus on: targeting travelers searching from nearby states, scaling budgets ahead of peak seasons, and tracking direct bookings for cabins, outfitters and guides.

Questions
Competition varies significantly by industry and location.
Northwest Arkansas and Central Arkansas are the most competitive parts of the state, particularly for legal, healthcare and home-service keywords. Other regions usually have fewer advertisers and lower costs per click, but also lower search volume.
A statewide average can hide major differences between markets.
That is why I prefer evaluating the actual keywords, cities, services, and competitors relevant to your business.
In Arkansas I see consistent Google Ads demand from roofers, HVAC contractors, home builders, law firms, dental and medical practices, B2B retail suppliers, outdoor recreation businesses and lake-area lodging.
These businesses benefit because their customers search with a clear, often urgent need.
That depends on where customers are located and where your business can realistically serve them.
For some businesses, statewide targeting makes sense.
For others, separating Little Rock, Fayetteville, and other priority areas provides better budget control.
They can be, especially when a larger number of advertisers compete for the same commercial searches.
However, cost per click alone does not determine profitability.
A more expensive market can still make sense if:
Yes.
Smaller markets can still contain strong commercial search demand.
The campaign may simply need a different strategy around:
